400+ Designs Later
Before the stores. Before the fashion shows. Before the Lagniappe Coin, the airport shop, or the Screens for Good campaigns, there were just shirts. A handful at first. Then a few dozen. Then hundreds.
Over the past twenty years, we’ve released more than 400 designs. Some lasted a season. Some disappeared quietly after a small run. Others refused to die and became “cubbie worthy” staples that we still print today. A few were lightning bolts that you seemed to love. Made in response to a headline at 8 a.m., printed by noon, sold out by nightfall. Some earned cease-and-desist letters. Some earned tattoos.
We found that, over time, designs would fall within categories: Music. Food. Saints. Mardi Gras. Neighborhood pride. Wetlands. Potholes. Political absurdity. Hurricanes. Heat. Humidity. Hope.
Not every design was brilliant. Not every idea deserved to live forever. But each one marked a moment. When the levees failed. The Saints rose. Water needed to be boiled. City Hall failed. The heat was unbearable. When the joy was undeniable.
